Ahn Ik-soo, former FC Seoul coach, became representative of 2nd division Ansan Greeners

  Former coach Ahn Ik-soo, who stepped down as FC Seoul coach during the professional soccer K-League 1 season last year, was appointed as the representative of the K-League 2 (second division) club Ansan Greeners.


Ansan Greeners FC announced on the 29th that it had appointed former coach Ahn Ik-soo as its fifth CEO. Representative Ahn will officially begin work at the home opening game against Gyeongnam FC at 2pm on the 1st of next month.

Representative Ahn served as coach of FC Seoul in 2010, contributing to the K-League championship, and then served as the head coach of the U-20 national team after working for Busan and Seongnam. He has been recognized for his leadership as the coach of Sunmoon University since 2018, and was appointed as the coach of FC Seoul in 2021, leading the team for about three years.

He announced his resignation without notice on August 19 of last year, and coach Kim Jin-gyu took over as acting coach and played the remaining 11 games.

Representative Ahn is a soccer player representing Ansan City. He has served as an ambassador for sports for Ansan City.

Club owner Lee Min-geun said, "CEO Ahn has a clear philosophy and philosophy on soccer, and has a high understanding of professional sports." He added, "He is well-versed in the trends and practices of the soccer world, and is the right person to run the club stably based on the experience he has accumulated over the years." “I decided to appoint him as CEO,” he said.
