"This is the best moment of my career! I feel like home here."

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane is realizing ‘happy soccer’ in Munich.

Munich won 1-0 in the 13th round of the 2023/24 German Bundesliga against FC Cologne held at the Rhine Energie Stadion in Cologne, Germany on the 25th (Korean time). Munich went undefeated in the league with 10 wins and 2 draws (32 points) in 12 games.

Munich played in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Kane appeared as the frontline striker, supported by Leroy Sane, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, and Kingsley Coman. Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich formed the third line. The back four was Nusair Mazrawi, Kim Min-jae, Dayot Upamecano, and Konrad Reimer, and the goalkeeper was Manuel Neuer.

Kane, who was positioned up front, showed off his abilities in the first half. In the 20th minute of the first half, Choupo-Moting, who received a pass from Jaune, bypassed a defender on the left side of the penalty box and attempted a right-footed shot. Choupo-Moting's shot was barely blocked by a defender in front of the goal line, but Kane pushed the ball in. Munich saved Kane's goal and won 1-0.

With his goal against Cologne, Kane became the first player in Bundesliga history to score 18 goals in his first 12 games. In addition, he surpassed Jadon Sancho and became the first English player to score 18 goals in a single season in the Bundesliga. Kane, who remained the Bundesliga's top scorer, will continue his challenge to Robert Lewandowski's record for most goals in a season (41 goals) in the 2020/21 season.

Kane expressed his thoughts in an interview with German media after the game. When asked if his current performance was the best moment of his career, he smiled and said, “That’s a good question. “I’ve already had good moments in my career, but this is one of the best.”

Kane added: “I know I will come into every game in good form and get a chance to score. I feel like home here. Everyone welcomes me. “I want to give back every time I play,” he added.

Kane, who grew up in Tottenham Hotspur's youth team, developed into a top European striker at Tottenham. He was the top scorer in the EPL three times and became the highest scorer in Tottenham history. He is also the second most goalscorer in the league in the EPL with 213 goals, following Alan Shearer (260 goals).

Kane left Tottenham, where he had been for 19 years, and moved to Munich last summer. Munich invested 95 million euros (about 135.8 billion won) in signing Kane. Kane is performing well worth the transfer fee. Munich, which suffered from a striker problem after Lewandowski left last summer, solved its problem thanks to Kane. Kane is aiming for his first trophy of his career.
