‘Total 305 wins – winning ratio 0.628’ ATL-BAL-LAD Lonely fall

 All three teams with an average winning percentage of 0.628 were eliminated from the division series. The three teams with a combined 305 wins in the regular season only won one final game in the division series.


The Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, and LA Dodgers all surpassed 100 wins in the regular season. Atlanta 104 wins, Baltimore 101 wins, LA Dodgers 100 wins.

They all won championships in their respective districts. In particular, Atlanta and LA Dodgers easily rose to the top with a gap of 14 and 16 games from second place in the district.


But the postseason stage was scary. Baltimore was swept by the Texas Rangers first, followed by the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta.

Baltimore had a see-saw game in the first and second games, but fell 1-7 in the third and final game. The Texas batting lineup gained momentum and destroyed the Baltimore mound.
Also, the LA Dodgers seemed to have completely lost momentum after Clayton Kershaw gave up 6 runs in 1/3 inning in Game 1. The fearsome table setters Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman failed to exert even a single ounce of strength.

Among them, Atlanta, the only team to win one game, fell to Philadelphia in the division series for the second year in a row, having led by 14 games in the same division during the regular season.

Ronald Acuña Jr., who is likely to win the National League Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, did not use his strength at all, and home run king Matt Olson also failed to hit a big hit.

Accordingly, among the teams that participated in this postseason, the three teams that achieved outstanding results disappeared early. In particular, wild card teams face each other in the National League Championship Series (NLCS).

However, Atlanta, Baltimore, and LA Dodgers are teams that are likely to win the district championship in the 2024 season. All of them have solid power.

Baseball is a sport where even the last-place team can have a .400 winning percentage. The early exit of these three teams may be a result that reflects the characteristics of baseball.
